Go-to Makeup Products

I only started getting into makeup at age 25.  Up until then I only really dabbled here and there with some face powder, but mostly just used blush, mascara, and occasionally some dark eyeshadow to create a smokey eye.  For whatever reason I always related any “real” makeup (foundation, concealer, and the like) with covering bad skin and was always afraid to use it…mostly because I was just ignorant as to how fun makeup could be!  However, when we lived in Istanbul I just remember a girlfriend convincingly enticed me to try a NARS tinted moisturizer, and that’s when it all started!

I realized I could use this tinted moisturizer to get a more finished look without it feeling and looking caked on.  I purchased their tinted moisturizer, their NARS bronzer, and a blush on the same day!  And now here we are, 3 years later, a million blushes and lipsticks later.  However, my go-to products have remained the same since then.  Here is a typical routine with the main products I use regularly:

I first apply a moisturizer and then the Jouer Anti-Aging Primer:

Next, I apply either my NARS Velvet Matte Skin Tint or their All-Day Luminous Weightless Foundation

I then use the NARS Radiant Cream ConcealerNARS Bronzing Powder in Casino and NARS Blush, of which I have many colors, a Dior Nude Air Loose Powder, and the Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder in Bronze Glow:

I then apply Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Volume Mascara and, occasionally, some eyeshadow. I have 3 go-to eyeshadow palettes: 2 from MAC Cosmetics and one recent one from Chanel’s Les 4 Ombres quadra eyeshadow called Tisse Jazz:

Considering it took me a while to really get into makeup in a world where it seems like even little girls know all the brands and how to apply it, I’ve certainly grown to have high-end taste!  But my mom did always tell me, your face is worth the investment!  And when using anything on my face that I should invest in great products in order to maintain a nice, smooth, and even complexion!
